Apple Business Connect helps KFC UK reach young customers where they live: On their phones.

When KFC UK wanted to raise awareness among mobile-focused Gen Z customers, it used Apple Business Connect to highlight special promotions and pricing and update store information. The efforts led to increased interactions with the company’s locations in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

KFC UK knows its customers are active on mobile — and that 65 percent of them use exclusively Apple devices. So when the company wanted to raise awareness of its more than 1000 locations in the United Kingdom and Ireland, it turned to Apple Business Connect via its API partner, Uberall.

“As a brand, we are focused on connecting with young audiences, like Gen Z,” said Jaime Arribas, Senior Marketing Technology Manager at KFC UK & Ireland. “And we wanted to offer an outstanding user experience and provide the most up-to-date information to Apple users.”

In fall of 2023, the company registered its locations with Apple Business Connect, which would allow KFC UK to manage its Maps listings and to highlight special promotions.

“The setup was an easy experience. It took two weeks, end to end, and the support we received from the Apple team was outstanding.”

Once the setup was complete, KFC UK updated its place cards within the Uberall platform for each location, ensuring customers would have easy access to current hours and directions. “It’s important to us that our place cards are useful and look good,” noted Arribas. “And it’s a major part of our location management strategy to offer the most accurate information to Apple users.”

The company also used the showcase feature to highlight special limited-time promotions, like its beloved KFC Zinger Duo Deal, and made sure the items’ pricing was prominently featured. Arribas added that the company examines insights from customer interactions with their place cards on Maps every month to monitor progress.

So far, the results have been worth celebrating: Since September 2023, KFC UK has seen a 140 percent increase in taps across its nearly 1100 locations.
